Ludwig Van Beethoven

In the spring of 2019, Trichia created a diversity project which used community engagement to bring students from different campus groups together to workshop the design for a mural based on students' identity and ideas on diversity. The mural is currently on the main floor of the Squires Student center at Virginia Tech.
In 2019 Dr. Andrea Baldwin created and edited a book project which featured the work of the students in her Black Feminisms class. Trichia was fortunate to have her artwork used as the front and back covers of the book and essay published in the text.

Mural Projects
What it is: Large-scale community art pieces that reflect culture, resilience, and collective identity.
Why it matters: Murals serve as public affirmations of pride and belonging; transforming blank walls into living canvases of community voice.
My role: Designed and led collaborative mural projects with students and community members, guiding them in storytelling through art while cultivating teamwork, ownership, and self-expression.
Black Feminisms Book Project
What it is: A published anthology curated and edited by Dr. Andrea Baldwin, featuring the voices and creative work of students exploring Black feminist thought.
Why it matters: The project amplifies diverse perspectives within Black feminism, blending scholarship and artistry to challenge narratives and honor lived experiences.
My role: Contributed both written and visual work. My essay was published in the text, and my artwork was selected for the book’s front and back covers—an opportunity to bring visual storytelling into dialogue with critical theory.

Diversity Statement
“What is always needed in the appreciation of art, or life, is the larger perspective”. Connections made or at least attempted, where none existed before, the straining to encompass in one’s glance at the varied world the common thread, the unifying theme through immense diversity, a fearlessness of growth, of search, of looking, that enlarges the private and the public world.”…… Alice Walker

I Am a Queen Campaign
What it is: A multimedia empowerment initiative centering young women of color.
Why it matters: The campaign challenges stereotypes by uplifting authentic voices and celebrating identity, resilience, and leadership.
My role: Conceptualized and directed the campaign, bringing together photography, narrative, and live workshops to create platforms where young women could define themselves on their own terms
Gender Based Violence PSA
What it is: A student-driven public service announcement addressing youth perspectives on wellness, justice, and change.
Why it matters: Media storytelling empowers young people to engage critically with social issues and use their platforms responsibly.
My role: Facilitated workshops in scriptwriting, production, and editing—ensuring students were not just participants but leaders in crafting their message to the wider community.

About Me

I am Trichia Cadette-Noel, an artist, educator, and leader dedicated to cultivating spaces where creativity and responsibility intersect. My journey is grounded in the belief that education and the arts are more than pathways to achievement; they are catalysts for empowerment, equity, and collective impact.
As an Academic Director and advocate, I’ve worked to design programs that nurture the whole student, blending rigorous academics with mentorship, community partnerships, and real-world readiness. From spearheading initiatives in career pathways and special education to creating platforms for artistic expression, my mission is to guide young people in discovering their voices, developing their skills, and stepping into their roles as ethical leaders.
Beyond the classroom, my work expands into the community, through advocacy, arts programming, and initiatives that amplify wellness, culture, and resilience. Whether on canvas, in conversation, or in collaboration, I see each endeavor as part of a larger vision: to build systems and communities where all individuals can thrive and lead.
